The Summer People

Description

When city-dwellers Jane and Mike Slater arrive in the peaceful village of Granville to spend the summer, they are puzzled by the ageless spirit and mannequin-like appearance of all the local inhabitants. Frightened by the mysterious disappearance of another summer visitor and their discovery of a Granville highway marker hidden in a barn, the young couple make a desperate attempt to get away. Neither of them, though, can figure out why each road they take leads them right back to the center of town.

In search of a quiet place to work and improve on their respective crafts over the summer, an artistically gifted couple stumble upon Granville, an all-too perfect town that they have difficulty leaving - even when they want to.

A talented artist couple looks for a peaceful summer spot to focus on their work, but when they discover the seemingly perfect town of Granville, they find themselves trapped there against their will.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
