Description

Robert Bazewell keeps telling his wife Martha how boring those business trips to New York have become for him. He wants to stop them, but beautiful Lolly Harbison, the reason for his visits to the Big Apple, but won’t hear of it. She threatens to commit suicide if he stays home. He tries to stop her from shooting herself but, during a struggle for possession of the gun, it goes off. Lolly is killed, and Robert fears that someday he’ll be accused of murder. He is absolutely correct.

A dishonest man realizes he needs to change his life. He starts treating his wife better, ends his affair with another woman, and quits stealing money from his job through fake expense reports. But his new start might come too late. When his former lover turns up murdered in New York, someone shows up demanding money to keep quiet about what they know.

An unscrupulous man decides to see the error in his ways. He becomes attentive to his wife, stops cheating on her with his mistress and even stops billing his company for unnecessary visits. But is he too late? As his mistress winds up dead in New York, a blackmailer appears in the troubled scene.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
