The Ten Million Dollar Heist
Description
Set in 1876, this story is about two seasoned burglars and a good-natured young chap attempting to pull off the biggest bank heist in history.
Big Tom Noonan, just out of Sing Sing, meets Big Jake Erdman in Philadelphia during the U.S. Centennial and, with him, makes plans to break through the walls of the Customs House clock room into the adjoining Sub-Treasury building’s vault. Their aim: to heist ten million in gold, silver and bills. Noonan’s son, Tommy, is invited to join them (he needs some experience). But his one swing with a sledgehammer is a near disaster. He not only hits his father’s hand, but the chisel files into the clock’s works and stops it.
In 1876, two experienced thieves and a friendly young man try to steal more money from a bank than anyone has ever stolen before.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
