Description

A husband and wife discover their adopted daughter was part of a weird Russian science project from almost twenty years ago during the cold war.

A cold war narrative about a couple realising that their adopted girl was a subject of a strange experiment in Russia conducted nearly two decades back.

Harry and Sarah Kemp are distressed by a phone call for their adopted daughter, Susan, whose picture recently appeared in newspapers. The caller claims she is Susan’s mother they look exactly alike, she says, because Susan is a clone, the result of parthenogenesis, the development of an egg without fertilization. The Kemps, who believe that the miracle of birth should not be tampered with, swear they’ll never allow this woman to come anywhere near their beloved daughter.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
