The Versegy Case
Description
The Budapest police are visited by a nervous and very excited Sandor Versegy, a professor who claims he was robbed of securities worth 150,000 gulden and most of his wife’s jewelry. All the evidence the police collect make it appear that Versegy robbed himself so he could claim the insurance. But Detective Richard Plaut, after a trip to Vienna, thinks otherwise, even after the professor seems to admit his own guilt by committing suicide.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
