The Wakeful Ghost
Description
A young man visiting his family in Ireland seeks the help of a ghost and a leprechaun to get hold of the woman he loves.
A young guy goes to Ireland to see his relatives and asks a ghost and a leprechaun to help him win the heart of the woman he wants to marry.
Hoping to locate his relatives in a remote corner of Ireland, Dr. Brian Macken steps off a train and is most surprised to be met by a man named Terence, who claims to be his great-uncle. Terence says he will take Brian to his aunt and uncle, the Daileys. Terence maintains he learned of Brian's arrival from his leprechaun friend, Malachy Molloy, which Brian doesn't believe. He is even more confused when the Daileys claim Terence has been dead thirty-five years and is now a banshee who can appear in the world at will. Brian's skepticism soon dissipates when he falls in love with Sheila O'Shaughnessy and finds he can't marry her without considerable help from both Terence and Malachy.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
