The Wandering Wind

Description

A man and woman move into a run-down house. The husband wants to fix up their broken home, but his quiet wife says no and wants to keep it the way it is. Over time, the man tries to break out of his fearful habits and make friends with people, while his wife stays alone and won't change.

After moving into their new home, a husband makes an attempt to remedy the dilapidated state of their abode. However, his shy and timid wife adamantly refuses, preferring to leave their ramshackle house as it is. As time passes, he desires to be free of his timorous ways and become more sociable while his wife stagnates in isolation.

John Masters, 63 but still deathly afraid of other people, is enticed into marriage by Doreen Dawkins. When John invites 18-year-old Simon Cascia, who is afraid of other people, to live with them, Doreen strenuously objects. John understands when she explains why, but he persists, and only when she learns why Simon wants to live with them does she relent.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
