The Witness Is Death

Description

Joe Wilson, a plumber, manages to make his way to a hospital with a bullet in his stomach. He was shot after witnessing a gangster's gunman put a bullet in the head of a man about to testify. The police want Wilson to identify the gunman in court, but he changes his mind when his wife insists they are all doomed if he does.

Staggering into Mercy Hospital with a bullet in him, plumber Joe Wilson now confronts police who suspect he may be a key witness against mobster Augie Larch, while he and his wife Helen wrestle with a moral decision that may save or end their lives.

Wounded plumber Joe Wilson stumbles into Mercy Hospital with a gunshot wound, where cops think he might have seen something that could put mobster Augie Larch behind bars, but Joe and his wife Helen must choose between doing what's right and staying alive.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
