There’s No Business Like

Description

A time traveler jumps ahead to 2076 and finds a world where criminals must work in entertainment as punishment. But this future show business is deadly - the stunts and effects actually kill people instead of just looking dangerous.

In the year 2076, crimes against society are punishable by community service-- in show business. A time traveler moves forward in time and discovers a future where the business is anything but entertaining; and where stunts and special effects often lead to death.

Placed in 2076 by a time machine, a 1976 man finds himself sentenced to entertainment (prison) where all actors (prisoners) are ultimately given roles where they could get killed for real. Show-biz in 2076 has returned to Roman-style entertainment, and the man realizes he must get on the good side of the emotionless, tough writer to stay alive.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
