Harrison Dillard Wentworth, nicknamed Dilly, is smitten by the charms of Wilhelmina Zurich, nicknamed Willy, when she pleads with him to invest prudently her entire savings of $5,000. Long-married Dilly starts seeing Willy secretly until her brother, Norman, threatens to blackmail him. Norman says he’ll keep quiet if Dilly can arrange for him to steal $1 million in negotiable bonds. Dilly agrees, but he has a surprise for Norman. The attaché case he steals contains no bonds, just blank sheets of paper.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
