Wine, Women and Murder

Description

Los Angeles book shop owner Elias Breckenridge, planning a trip to Cologne to attend a meeting of the International Coleridge Society, is persuaded by one of his customers, Maude Bexlar, to do her a favor. She asks him to deliver a deed to her cousin, Dr. Karl Bexlar, a professor at Cologne University. Breckenridge does so and, upon returning to his hotel, is told by the police that Dr. Bexlar has been murdered and that he (Breckenridge) is the chief suspect.

A quiet bookstore owner goes to Germany for a poetry event and gets blamed for killing someone. His only chance for help is a low-level embassy worker who doesn't really care about his problem.

A mild-mannered book seller travels to Germany for a poetry festival and is framed for murder. His only hope is an assistant secretary consulate who is only mildly interested in his case.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
