Description
A couple babysitting their young nephew are tortured and harassed by his malicious antics. They begin to suspect he is more than he seems when the nature of his pranks become more and more sinister.
Edgar and June Carpenter offer to care for a 12-year-old boy, Rodney, while Edgar’s brother goes on a business trip to Switzerland. Rodney is an orphan whose grandmother died in a mysterious fall from her bedroom window and whose parents were killed in an unusual auto accident. Rodney, unable to speak, communicates only by writing notes. His first to the Carpenters is “Your cat Sylvester will die.” Shortly after the cat is found dead, Rodney writes another note: “You’re next.”

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
