Description
In 1880s Laramie, Wyoming, Charles de Nevers arrives, claiming noble French heritage, which Gertie Penrod believes but her father, Harry, doubts. A letter accuses Charles of lying about his estate, leading to his trial and conviction for fraud. Charles is sentenced to hard labor, and the Penrods return to ranch life, wiser and changed.
A man named Charles de Nevers comes to Laramie, Wyoming in the 1880s, saying he's from a rich French family. Gertie Penrod trusts him, but her father Harry thinks he's lying. When a letter proves Charles made up stories about his wealth, he gets put on trial and found guilty of cheating people. Charles goes to prison to do hard work, while the Penrod family goes back to their ranch, having learned important lessons.
Sears Radio Theater was a radio drama anthology series which ran weeknights on CBS Radio in 1979, sponsored by the Sears chain. Often paired with The CBS Radio Mystery Theater during its first season, the program offered a different genre of drama for each evening's broadcast.
