A hip beatnik stays so calm and collected that even being hanged by a mob doesn't shake him up. The story was later made into a radio show on "Suspense" on August 16, 1959.

In a narrative work, suspense is the audience's excited anticipation about the plot or conflict, particularly as it affects a character for whom the audience feels sympathy.
