Everybody Does It

Critic William Crawford, divorced from his actress wife Margaret Constant, learns she is going to star in a new production of Joan of Arc. He warns he will pan her performance, no matter how well she acts; he doesn’t think it is a suitable role for her. True to his word, Crawford writes a scathing review. An angry Margaret storms into his apartment and threatens to kill him with a letter opener, but she can’t go through with it. Later, however, Crawford is found murdered, and Margaret is accused of the crime.
