Gate 27

The once-great detective, Joe Driscoll, a shadow in Grand Central Terminal, struggles to regain his dignity and self-respect after a mysterious woman offers him money. His search for her awakens his instincts and leads him to find her danger and save her life. In the process, he finds himself healed of drink and despair.

Former top detective Joe Driscoll now wanders Grand Central Terminal like a ghost, trying to win back his honor and pride after a strange woman gives him cash. When he hunts for her, his old skills come back to life, and he discovers she's in trouble and rescues her. Along the way, he beats his drinking problem and finds hope again.

Joe Driscoll is a once proud cop whose instinct is aroused in a bum, when, after killing a small-time punk in dubious circumstances, turns to the demon: rum. But when his best shot for coffee money every morning—the lady in the blue dress who gets off at gate 27 at Grand Central Station—misses her train for two days, Joe cleans up his act and returns to the sharp detective he once was.
