Description
Melba was a wonderful wife to Paul, but as his widow she leaves something to be desired. She won't stop loving him and she won't leave him alone. In desperation, Paul goes to a kindred spirit for help. The only advice is for Paul to marry again—not his earthly wife, Melba, but a heavenly creature who, like Paul, expects to live on forever.
A woman mourns deeply after losing her husband and gets lost in memories of their short but joyful marriage. In the spirit world, her dead husband gets help from an old ghost friend who tells him he must choose whether to wed someone in the afterlife so his wife can move on and find new love. He struggles between staying loyal to his wife and doing what's best for her, but eventually finds the right answer that helps them both.
After her husband's death, a grieving widow retreats into memories of their brief, happy life together. her husband's spirit, guided by an old spirit friend, must decide whether to marry in the afterlife to free his widow for a new life. The conflict between loyalty and love brings resolution to both.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
