Identified Flying Objects
Description
Officer Pinchot arrests the space machine’s pilot for obstructing traffic. The pilot, who has no registration or driver’s license and whose only words are “voor ee amana,” infuriates the judge, who orders him committed to an institution for the insane. There he meets Molly, a cleaning lady, who is able to understand his language and who learns, to her horror, that his planet, Ayvora, has plans to conquer and colonize the Earth, killing all of its inhabitants in the process.
A doctor who studies the mind gets called to a police station to figure out who a strange man is. This mystery makes the doctor question everything he believes about life and whether people exist on other worlds. The doctor learns that the man might be trying to talk in ways that people cannot understand.
A psychiatrist called in to investigate a mystery man detained at a police station is confronted with a problem that makes him rethink his own beliefs and the possibility of life beyond Earth. He discovers that the man may be trying to communicate in a way beyond human understanding.
CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
