Description

A wealthy heir to a major news empire gets kidnapped by terrorists in this updated version of the Patty Hearst story. After being held captive, Mellon starts to believe in his captors' cause and joins their group willingly.

Heiress Mary Anne Melon, out to punish her father whom she feels has neglected her, plots her own kidnapping with the help of her fiancé and two members of a radical underground army. Melon, concerned about his daughter’s safety, hires a private detective named Starret to investigate the much publicized incident. Starret is baffled until the abductors send a recorded message, one sentence of which Starret believes contains the clue he needs to find Mary Anne.

An heiress orchestrates her own kidnapping with her fiancé and radical associates to get back at her neglectful father. When the father hires a detective to investigate, he discovers a crucial clue in a recorded message from the abductors that helps him locate the missing woman.

A modern take on the infamous abduction of Patty Hearst. The heir of a multi-media news conglomerate is taken hostage by a terrorist group. The kidnapped Mellon soon becomes a willing member of the very group that took him captive.

CBS Radio Mystery Theater is a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was repeated by the NPR satellite feed. In New York City it was not aired by the then all-news WCBS but by its originating station, WOR, which produced and announced it as simply Radio Mystery Theater.
