The Devil’s Brew

Nineteen-year-old Dusty Lane, against his parents’ wishes, has signed a big league baseball contract with the Cougars. With a batting average of .392, he’s soon everybody’s hero. But then he’s knocked unconscious by a baseball. While in a coma, he meets a Mr. Conjureman, who says he has failed “to honor thy father and thy mother.” Furthermore, Mr. C. says, Dusty must either sign with his team, the Hellcats, or never get another major league hit.

A young man abandons his family to chase his dream of playing major league baseball, but Satan demands payment after the player brings dishonor to his mother and father.

A baseball player leaves home to become a professional player in the big leagues. But the devil holds him ransom for shaming his parents.
