Jean Crane started the program for American soldiers, with Ken helping out with the jokes. The Harry James Orchestra was great when Kitty Kallen sang "I'm Beginning to See the Light." Gene Krupa amazed everyone with "Limehouse Blues" and played with three musicians. William Bendix and Edward Everett Horton made people laugh with a funny act about milking a cow. Crane finished by saying thank you to the military.

Command Performance was a radio program which originally aired between 1942 and 1949. The program was broadcast on the Armed Forces Radio Network (AFRS) and transmitted by shortwave to overseas troops — but with few exceptions, it was not broadcast over domestic U.S. radio stations.
