Robert Young hosts a wartime program made for American soldiers fighting in World War II. Charlie Spivak and his musicians perform "Besame Mucho," "I Know That You Know," and "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot." Tex Ritter delivers a song called "A Rainbow for You." Janet Blair takes the stage with "Someone to Watch Over Me." Cass Daley brings laughs by telling funny stories about wedding men in uniform. The program wraps up by honoring the troops.

Command Performance was a radio program which originally aired between 1942 and 1949. The program was broadcast on the Armed Forces Radio Network (AFRS) and transmitted by shortwave to overseas troops — but with few exceptions, it was not broadcast over domestic U.S. radio stations.
