Description

At Fort Laramie, boredom breeds tension among soldiers. Captain Quince intervenes in a knife fight, then leads a buffalo hunt for fresh meat. They face a Cheyenne attack, losing seven men. Upon return, Quince learns of unexpected Cheyenne unrest and decides to investigate the reservation, hinting at deeper troubles.

Private Soothey is bored with garrison duty. He has a plan for getting a little action out of the Indians. The Cheyenne oblige. The program was recorded February 16, 1956 and is also known as, "Unknown Disease At Fort."

Soldiers at Fort Laramie grow restless and start fighting each other. Captain Quince stops a knife fight between his men, then takes them on a buffalo hunt to get fresh meat. During the hunt, Cheyenne warriors attack them and kill seven soldiers. When Quince gets back to the fort, he hears about strange problems with the Cheyenne people. He chooses to check out their reservation because something bigger might be wrong.

Fort Laramie is a CBS Radio Western series starring Raymond Burr as Captain Lee Quince. It aired Sunday afternoons January 22–October 28, 1956, at 5:30 pm ET. Produced and directed by Norman Macdonnell, this Western drama depicted life at old Fort Laramie during the 19th Century. The 41 episodes starred Raymond Burr as Lee Quince, captain of the cavalry. One year later, Burr became a television star as Perry Mason.
