Description

Captain Quince finds Fort Laramie's band instruments busted after a brawl. With no beer sales, the band can't get new ones. Major Daggett is mad, and there's no band concert. Quince learns Mrs. Feemster's committee's stopped beer sales, cutting funds. Quince must fix the mess to save the band and morale.

Mrs. Feemster and the "Committee On Moral Improvement" visits the Fort...and eliminates beer! The program was recorded September 27, 1956.

After a fight breaks out, Captain Quince discovers that Fort Laramie's musical instruments are all broken. The band cannot buy replacements because they have no money from beer sales. Major Daggett is angry, and the planned concert is canceled. Quince finds out that Mrs. Feemster's group has banned beer sales, which cut off the band's funding. Now Quince has to solve this problem to rescue the band and keep everyone's spirits up.

Fort Laramie is a CBS Radio Western series starring Raymond Burr as Captain Lee Quince. It aired Sunday afternoons January 22–October 28, 1956, at 5:30 pm ET. Produced and directed by Norman Macdonnell, this Western drama depicted life at old Fort Laramie during the 19th Century. The 41 episodes starred Raymond Burr as Lee Quince, captain of the cavalry. One year later, Burr became a television star as Perry Mason.
