Description

Captain Lee Quince watches as two odd recruits, Feeny and Meriwether, try to join the cavalry for food and shelter. They are more entertainers than soldiers, but the army needs men. Quince knows the recruits may not be the best, but a battle with the Sioux is coming, and they'll need everyone who can hold a gun.

Feeney and Merriweather, a medicine hawker and a Shakespearean actor, join the army and find out about soldiering the hard way. The program was recorded June 14, 1956.

Fort Laramie is a CBS Radio Western series starring Raymond Burr as Captain Lee Quince. It aired Sunday afternoons January 22–October 28, 1956, at 5:30 pm ET. Produced and directed by Norman Macdonnell, this Western drama depicted life at old Fort Laramie during the 19th Century. The 41 episodes starred Raymond Burr as Lee Quince, captain of the cavalry. One year later, Burr became a television star as Perry Mason.
