He uncovers Deputy Farley's criminal past and the brothers' dark history with Billy the Kid. With Lila's help, Kendall exposes their secrets, leading to a tense standoff and a moral reckoning. A newspaper writer named J.B. Kendall comes to the frontier town of South Sunday, Montana to write about life there, making Sheriff Clanton nervous. Kendall discovers that Deputy Farley used to be a criminal and learns about the brothers' troubled past with the outlaw Billy the Kid. A woman named Lila helps Kendall reveal these hidden truths, which leads to a dangerous face-off and forces everyone to face right and wrong.
