Description

A grieving widower in a small town visits his deceased wife's grave while longtime friends attempt to comfort him. He grows fixated on the belief that her ghost appears to him. His obsession creates problems with his new wife, and when he dies, the dead woman's spirit remains bound to him through a rose he threw away.

A man in a small town mourns his dead wife at her grave, while old friends try to console him. He becomes obsessed, claiming her spirit visits him. His devotion drives a wedge between him and his living wife, and he dies, leaving the dead woman’s spirit to linger near him, tied to him by a rose he discarded.

Lights Out is an American old-time radio program devoted mostly to horror and the supernatural. Created by Wyllis Cooper and then eventually taken over by Arch Oboler, versions of Lights Out aired on different networks, at various times, from January 3, 1934, to the summer of 1947 and the series eventually made the transition to television. Lights Out was one of the earliest radio horror programs, predating Suspense and Inner Sanctum, and was the first to gain a large following.
