Haunted by the mysterious disappearance of her father, a girl and her fiancé are drawn into a tense conflict involving a family acquaintance. Their relationship is strained by the man's insistence that he has seen the girl’s father, whose ghost finally appears to judge the guilty and reconcile the lovers.
