Tessa Farr decides to leave her husband Adam, a well-known actor whose penchant for projecting his spirit or astral self out of his body is driving her out of her mind. Missing her, Adam attempts and fails to persuade Tessa to return by using his spiritual and telepathic powers to inflict minor illnesses on her mother and his son. When he fails, everyone believes that Adam has lost his powers, and no one seriously believes his threat to use his spirit to kill Tessa's new boyfriend.
