When a blazing shootout in the halls of a university hospital leaves murderer Jed Gant dead and Dr. Dan Crane with an irreparably damaged hand, head surgeon Stewart Courtney performs a daring transplant using the dead man’s hand. The transplant is successful, but Dan is haunted by Gant’s dying vow to curse him from beyond the grave. His new hand seems to fulfill that curse: With a will of its own, it threatens to bring the killer back to life.
