Baker Street with a warrant for the private detective's arrest for the possession of stolen goods. Holmes has in hand the Countess of Morcar's priceless stone, a blue carbuncle, found in the crop of a goose that was dropped by a slightly intoxicated man when accosted by a bunch of toughs.
